Doing your own thinking

Doing your own thinking is about exercising control of your personal universe. Others would like to control it, and there are people attempting to hack it every day.

Not to put a conspiratorial spin on it, but there are plenty of people who would rather do your thinking for you. They include marketers, politicians, and pundits of all types.

They’re not necessarily trying to hurt you. It could be just the opposite. But they would prefer that you think like they do and not argue too much.

Also, if you don’t choose what information you take in, you’re ceding control to the daily news cycle and the items chosen for you by the algorithms running your social media feeds.
